About me
Melissa Carter is the Senior Director for Global Spiritual Life and Head of Mindfulness Education and Programming for the Office of Global Inclusion within University Life at NYU. She also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Wagner School of Public Service and Adjunct Faculty in the Silver School of Social work. Since transitioning from a career in the music industry, Melissa has spent over a decade educating on the intersection of spirituality, social change, contemplative practices, care ethics, and well-being as paths to bridge-building. She holds a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from the University of South Florida, an MBA in Media Management from the Metropolitan College of New York, and is currently a doctoral candidate in the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development program in Higher Education Administration with a focus on Chaplaincy and Campus Religious Life.
