In this track we will learn to use art as a dynamic tool for creating meaningful Jewish learning experiences for our campers. Together we will explore how various art forms (painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, fiber, and more) can be used to bring Jewish values, stories, and traditions to life. By the end, we will have a toolkit of creative ideas and techniques to make Jewish learning both impactful and memorable, inspiring campers to see the beauty of Jewish identity through the lens of artistic expression.

In this session we will break down the component parts of a Dvar Torah and practice writing a tight 3-5 minute teaching. Dvar Torah means "word of Torah" and it is an important component of Jewish communal life. Bringing our own interpretations and insights to Jewish texts and traditions is an excellent way to exercise leadership at camp, and you can do it even if you don't see yourself as a "Torah teacher". Whether you are expounding on the week's Torah portion or unpacking an important camp value, giving a Dvar Torah can be a fun and engaging part of your leadership skills set. No text experience required!

In this session we will use reflective prompts to help us explore what "hineini" means in moments of doubt, tension, and hopelessness. We will then ceremonially share our "I am" statements and create candle holders that reflect these affirmations as reminders that when our light feels dim and hard to see, the candle's flame will remind us that we only need to return to our divine spark, our hineini truth, to remember that our light is always shining and bright.
